The readings for January 7, 2018. It’s the “Baptism of the Lord” Sunday (spoiler alert: it’s Jesus).Though the readings are water themed, these readings suggest it might also be called the “Moving of the Spirit” Sunday.There’s a brief look at creation, and an appropriation of Canaanite ideas in the psalm. The disciples of John the Baptist come to know the full revelation of Christ, and, unsurprisingly, the Jesus gets baptized.
